Dracula Is Supposed To Be Scary

Christopher Lee (27 May 1922 – 7 June 2015)

Here is one of my rants:

The death of Christopher Lee is sad because he was a great entertainer and actor, plus he knows how to scare the bejesus out of you.

Unlike the present day Draculars,he was not a pampered Mommy;s boy who made sure his hair was well looked after (although it was), he didn’t fall in love with some simpering necrophilliac damsel and cry to sleep in the ladys arm, No! he did the decent thing and bit her on the neck and sucked her blood.

Why do we have these dreary vampires who cry when their girlfriend/wives give birth to babies even though the vampires are dead and presumably incapable of producing sperm? Why do vampires have Oedipus Complex problems when they are dead and have no need to suffer from psychological issues? Who’s idea was it to give vampires alcohol and make them suffer all the issues that go along with alcohol problems? These and many more are spoiling the imagery of vampires which help you to keep awake on a dark and dingy night in Wiltshire.

So with the death of Christopher Lee can TV producers look to the master and redo vampires to make them what they are blood guzzling monsters without any redeeming properties.
