Do you play different when online?

I have noticed that I play very different online than I play live. Why this is I don’t know but I tend to take more risk when I am online and will call hands when the odds maybe against me.

I have heard of guys who play 8 tables at a time online yet when I have seen them live play like absolute numbskulls.

When I have tried to investigate whether bots are of any use to online players I have more or less come up against a brick wall. No one is offering the definitive poker bot because the reputable poker site have developed sites that are anti-bot so these players who play multi tables must be good at maths retention since they are doing what bots are supposed to be helping us to do – working out the maths of a hand and a players style.

My strategy online does enter the realms of acting irrationally 20% of the time since it help confuse the analytical players and enhance my reputation as an instinctive players. Yet my reputation off-line is that of an aggressive tight player who doesn’t go in without a decent hand. Quite extra-ordinary!

The other thing I have noticed is that the shorter stack I am online the more aggressive I am. I suppose it’s a bit like a warrior wishing to be put out of his misery and get it over and done with. While off-line I am still aggressive but a little more circumspect on which hands I will be aggressive with. Online I have been known to go all in with a 4-6 suited.

It could be that I get bored online because it is heard to get any banter because typing in message and playing is not natural and some of the players can be very childish. Unlike live games where childishness is frowned upon it seems online it is accepted and even encouraged. The amount of times I have read of various online warriors threatening to do someone in must be in the hundreds if not thousands.

So now I have divulged that I will be reckless with 20% of my hands wail I see more people seeing my play or could I have been lying…who knows…!
