Life Of A Human Road Runner

Road Runner

Life of a travelling grafter is a glamorous if hard life! Literally every town will have it’s lonely housewife, sad old geezer who needs a friend and a couple of ruffians who hate anyone new trampling on ‘their’ turf. Usually the animosity last until you buy them a drink, but, sometimes it can go on for a long time.

Wile E. Coyote is representative of these types of individuals as they constantly battle to preserve the life style they feel comfortable in and hate to change via a new guy with new fangle ideas.

The only problem with this view is that the stranger is never really the danger it is the friend nextdoor or the scout master that is really the problem. Us road runners are the victim of dodgy pr and spin. The real issue are the so called friends who stab you in the back. The family member who hates your being because everyone else has nice words to say about you. The envious colleague who wants to bring you down because he should be the lauded one.

It is never the stranger, but it is the stranger that gets it. So that the sins of neighbourhood are absolved. Here are some tunes listing out the virtues of being on the road playing cards, drinking whiskey and chasing skirt.
