The death of a very funny man is always a sad experience. Especially a man with the talent of Felix Dexter who could always bring a smile to the face playing the middle class, authoritarian just about to go under in a sea of doubt, mishap and plain nonsense.
His demeanour belied the complex nature of the situation and this made the sketch even funnier. This naturally led him to play character parts and he excelled in all the parts he played. Dying at such an age has robbed us from further laughter at the absurd nature of officialdom.
