Not a raging success but informative nonetheless. The Irish Centre Birmingham as a venue was good, food was good, poker robust and the roulette the star. Enough players for a table (6), it was clear the weather and the run up to the Christmas was not conducive.

The big question is how does a roulette banker lose? Second Pop Up Poker will be at The Royal George a new hotel and licensed venue being built by St Andrews football ground, home of Birmingham City.

pop up poker a bit like strip poker

pop up poker a bit like strip poker

An idea was suggested to me which at first seemed a bit crazy and fraught with legal dangers but on reflection seems quite sensible and viable.

It is a concept as old as the game of sharks, rogues, reprobates and degenerates. Basically a poker school on the hoof or to use the modern concept ‘pop up poker’.

its been fashionable for a while to have pop up shops where everything from clothes to cuisine is sold then melted away into the ether. it has been suggested to do the same with poker have basically a casino with poker tables etc as if it is a club then melt away when it is finished.

GREAT IDEA! WATCH THIS SPACE…
