The TV series Dallas had a brilliant beginning for the episode that showed the death of JR Ewing played by the master Larry Hagman. I watched it because it was on at 11 O’clock at night and it seemed like a piece of history was about to happen and it surely did.
From the music that introduced the program, to the blatant improbable story line being set up it was wonderful to have pure escapism just before bedtime and a distraction from playing online poker.
Can Dallas continue without JR Ewing? I bet it can simply using old clips of JR and flash back stories the producers of Dallas can milk this cow for a very long time. And as long as it is on at 11pm on a night without anything interesting to do then Dallas can become a cult viewing for people with nothing better to do but chill.
