Jeff Hanneman one of the founders of Slayer died yesterday after battling with a virus which was eating his body. When Jeff Hanneman fell into a coma and nearly losing his arm due to contracting necrotizing fasciitis it was thought that Slayer would never have one of its founders and originators of thrash metal.
It looked like he survived the ordeal, but then his liver failed and he was rushed back into hospital earlier this year and he died yesterday morning.
Slayer sent out a message on Facebook saying ‘He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.’
Here is the break through song Raining Blood.
