Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014
Previously, I wrote that the Commonwealth Games 2014 was rubbish as described apparently by Usain Bolt in his own style of language. However, after a stern talking too by Heidi Hog and Sligo Tom I have now seen the errors of my way and have done a 180 degree turnaround.
The Commonwealth games are not to be compared to the Olympic games. It is supposed to be a bit amateurish to tie in with the corporate spin that the British Empire was somewhat ennobling and a force of good! Therefore, the organisation which bring 1/5 of the world land mass together is a gentle reflection of those bygone days.
Obviously this is nonsense, and self serving. But a games that can bring 1/5 of the world land mass together does have some purpose in life, even if I am not sure what the purpose is. In which case since there is some good in having the games I am to forget my existential views and go with the flow.
