The idea of friendship is to be friendly. If things do not work out then there should be a semblance of respect and an ability to work things out. This need to be civil is the basis of friendship. However, friendship can be a source of conflict if it is seen as more important than older relationship such as family. This can get more complicated when alcohol gets involved and the bottle becomes a friend that never answer back or is critical.
Substance abuse will always be a problem within a friendship and alcohol is one dangerous substance. So when a friend steals money to purchase beer and then get into a situation where it is easier to break an agreement and wallow in alcoholic self pity things will always go wrong. Alcoholic over confidence is the whore for disaster and in the end karma is a bitch.
