One of the biggest money makers I have ever come across has decided to retire and do something less dangerous. Joe Calzaghe never lost a fight and is probably the final link in the line of great middle weight fighters that the UK produced during the 90’s and 00’s.
He made me quite a bit of money because he never lost a fight and was quite surprised that he only ever won one Sportsperson of The Year award. Trained by his dad the south paw always seemed to do things his own way, giving 100% in all his fights. He may not have been as elegant as some fighters but he was fast and hard which is what you want to be if you want to be champion.
Apparently it was his mother who told him to retire which just goes to prove there is always someone bigger and badder than you! Calzaghe the Italian Dragon aims to be a promoter and TV pundit, he deserves a quiet life.
