Raymond Patrick "Ray" Cusick (1928 – 21 February 2013)

Raymond Patrick “Ray” Cusick was the man who came up with the vision of The Daleks the sworn enemy of Doctor Who. He was a somewhat everyman figure with interest from maths to art and when he ended up at the BBC he was there as a designer. Although he came up with the vision of the Daleks he only received a normal BBC wage. He did receive a ex-gratia payment for his design for what turned out to be a major revenue earner for the BBC.

Raymond Cusick died after a very short illness.
