Full moons mean trouble in my book, why? Well things go out of kilter for me, it always happen. The days leading up to a full moon and the days after a full moon like a waves from the sea bring grief and slowly takes it away. Granted for some people it brings luck and joy as somebody must be getting the good stuff.
The word lunatic has its roots in the Latin word luna which means moon. Those old Romans knew what they were talking about. In the license trade all publicans hate the moon period because it usually mean fights will be happening and staff lose their minds and decide to nick the money out of the till.
Women also have their periods roughly at the same time of the wax and wane of the moon and all guys over the age of 12 know what to expect when that happens.
I will give you some examples and let you decide if I am talking rubbish. During the moon period!
1) break the bathroom tiles.
2) rip my favourite jeans.
3) row with my squeeze.
4) lose my bank roll on a 2/5 bet.
5) fall out with my new business partner.
6) Get knocked out on the bubble with a pair of aces in the hole
7) get knocked out of another poker tournament with a pair of aces in the hole.
8) rebuild my bank with hard work only to lose it again plus more in a bookie I know is jinxed.
9) meet and then lose the number of a very hot woman.
10) have to watch while my mate scores with the barmaid I have been after for a while.
11) have a new hanger on who insist on telling me his views when I don’t need or want them.
12) cant get rid of the idiot because he is related to my new business partner.
13) have to get the lights done because I have busted them.
14) was supposed to go to a party but have to stay behind for electricity and plasterer.
All this happened in a couple of weeks, Some people may call it karma as if I had done something wrong in my previous life.I go for a drink and all the pub has to offer is tepid cans of lager. I need some serious luck change or I am going to explode with rage…
