Nothing worst than blatantly having your bluff called by a incredulous opponent. I once was playing against some really bad learners for minimum stake (£5) and was astounded to see that that the first thing they wanted to do was bluff! So naturally I slowly took their money.
The one guy had a running feud with some other guys who just happen to go into the pub for a drink. While trying to bluff me and the other tournament players, he decided to call for back up and continue the feud.
Well while losing his money, he also lost some blood and reputation because the back up turned to be a waste of space and so did his poker bluffing.
Lesson to be learnt if you want to be a poker player learn to play poker and leave the bluffing until you have mastered the basics. Also, if you want to be a ‘gangstar’, make sure your back up has the basic skill of at least being able and willing to fight so that you do not go into battle half cocked.
