The man who opened the secretive world of British bookmaking is going for the big one and has decided to challenge his sacking by Channel 4. He will probably lose because those who work on TV must assume that part of it is the way they look and therefore they will be subject to personal ‘taste’.

Clearly those in charge of production and commissioning programs need to be taken from a wider pool of talent, experience and the make up of society. So in the end if you do not have any particular talent but rely on your good looks or your easily replicated act then you have to demand less money and be prepared to suffer the indignity of rejection.
