James Garner (April 7, 1928 – July 19, 2014)

If you have ever spent an afternoon from work or college lounging around on the sofa, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes you may have watched one of the most under-rated TV shows of all time. The Rockford Files was a excellent program for escapism and chillaxing. Jim Rockford played by James Garner was entertainment gold as it strove to engage the viewers in a light hearted detective romp and succeeded with honours. 

James Garner the good looking actor who played Jim Rockford died after an undisclosed illness. The actor James Garner was born James Scott Bumgarne and had a really rough up bringing with a not so nice step-mother who beat him regular. James Garner starred as Bret Maverick in Maverick , a program about a cool card sharp who constantly got into comedy scrapes, just like Jim Rockford. In fact it has been rumored that Maverick and The Rockford Files were the same the only difference was the time they were set.

He also starred in many films but he will always be remembered for being the actor that was not scared to work at his craft to produce an effortlessly popular show.
