You have got to give it to the Tory party they know how to do political assassination. Unlike the Labour party who are now into a death spiral because of a guy lack of awareness about his ability to lead an effective opposition and his lack of charisma.
In the Tory party, the saying ‘…if you want a friend get a dog…’ has just been reiterated in spades yesterday.
Michael Gove is a uber nerd who is a ideologue to the max. He wanted to get the UK out of the European Union and whoa betide anyone who got in his way. In poker terms he is that annoying player in tournament play, who waits and gains insight into your soul and plays you meticulously until you lose your temper and fight back only to lose your chips and get knocked out.
Michael Gove would be a great player in a bounty tournament as he will slickly knock out a player to get the bounty on the player and not necessarily win the tournament as sooner or later he will be forced to go all in as his passive aggressive style will get on other players nerves and although he has the best hand someone will go all in and beat him with the worst starting hand.
Just look what he has done in the last week. He knifed his best friend David Cameron by beating him on David Cameron own campaign to keep the UK in the European Union. A referendum campaign which boiled down to bendy fruit, Syrian migrants and polish plumbers. Not the high minded theories of democracy and statehood.
Michael Gove is a god parent to one of David Cameron’s children. He used to take them to school as part o. Now he has destroyed his friend and leaders’ career and forever label David Cameron as the man who risked the UK future both financially and physically to keep the Conservatives together for the 2015 election. The UK is now effectively out of the EU and Scotland could finally leave the UK. Bounty 1!
Then on the final day to be nominated as a candidate to replace David Cameron, Michael Gove ends Boris Johnson’s ambitions to be Tory leader and effectively Prime Minister. Apparently the deal was Boris Johnson help win the referendum for the UK to get out of the European Union and Michael Gove would act as Boris Johnson’s campaign manager. However, with the insistence of Michael Gove’s wife – Sarah Vine, he, Michael Gove turned on Boris Johnson and said Boris Johnson was not sensible enough to be Prime Minister and that he, Michael Gove would be better. This killed Boris Johnson and he dropped out of the race. Bounty 2!
Will it help Michael Gove out? I am not sure, as the one that wield the dagger very rarely gain the prize. I am not sure Gove want to win the big prize as he has already gained the aim he has spent his life wanting, getting the UK out of the EU.
