We all need a time to rest and relax. David Cameron in his day used to call it chillax mixing the word chill and relax…very cool, man!
After the massive decision by the UK public to vote ‘Leave’, the country has displayed all the characteristic the USA have been showing for the last 8 years – collective mental breakdown.
The government has a zombie executive after Cameron deciding to step down as Prime Minister. This led to Boris Johnson to decline and reluctantly not to run for Conservative leader and therefore Prime Minister. This was due to his ally stabbing him in the back and front metaphorically.
The opposition not wanting to be out down decide it was time to completely meltdown and risk splitting into two. Jeremy Corbyn got 60% of the vote to be leader, but only got 19% of the vote from his parliamentary party ie the MP’s who say he is impossible to work with; Corbyn wont stand down and the MP’s do not want to have a leadership election with Corbyn in the race as he will gain the leadership again!
Nigel Farage the one man who got Britain to this moment decides he has had enough of being leader and leaves the field for others to work out how the UK leave the European Union.
At which point Nicola Srurgeon decides to work on an agenda to keep Scotland in the Europe Union which will ultimately mean leaving the UK.
There’s demonstration, constitutional court cases, crying, calls of act of betrayal, actually betrayal, more crying, stepping up and stepping down from leadership.
So in this moment of existential crisis it is time to play poker just to cut out the noise of all this rancor and gnashing of teeth. Hence I have been following some of the World Series of Poker and diving into the odd tournament and live game.
