Whitney Houston the 20th century classic chanteuse, dies in a hotel from what is expected to be drug abuse probably cocaine. Another victim of the nastiest drug ever! She had a great voice which covered a massive range and made the ability to change from major to minor within a song, a signature trait which has been copied by millions of wannabe pop stars.
Her marriage to professional bad boy Bobby Brown was probably the beginning of her downfall. A man who loved to play up to his image of being crazy and in effect a man out of control, who did what he wanted when he wanted. This is not a bad thing to live by except when you bring vulnerable people into your sphere of influence.
Apparently Bobby Brown broke down in tears on stage, well he should he clearly helped in Whitney’s demise. Yes you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink it, and, she always had the option to not to partake. Sometimes you have to make it impossible for people to do the thing they want to, but with her continuous decline it never happened and the death of nearly every modern day female singers role model became a certainty.
Whitney Houston came from what is in effect pop and soul royalty which included mother Cissy Houston, cousins Dionne Warwick and Dee Dee Warwick, and her godmother Aretha Franklin literally had it all. When she burst onto the scene, Whitney Houston took over and made the charts her own. Houston was the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits (“Saving All My Love for You”, “How Will I Know”, “Greatest Love of All”, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)”, “Didn’t We Almost Have It All”, “So Emotional” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” and is second to Elton John and the only female artist to have two number-one Top Billboard 200 Album awards (formerly “Top Pop Album”) on the Billboard magazine year-end charts.
She did movies scoring a massive success in ”The Bodyguard” which produced the single ”I Will Always Love You” the song written by Dolly Parton was constantly on the radio and sung in karaoke bar ad nauseum. It may not be her best song but it certainly resonated with female audience all around the world.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, Whitney Houston was the most awarded singer of all time and literally every major singer from Toni Braxton to Lady Ga Ga site Whitney Houston as an inspiration. A death that could easily been avoided, just like Amy Winehouse it seems that the men in their lives went out of their way to destroy a classic female icon. Whitney Houston leaves a daughter Bobbi Kristina.
