Really it is time for poker players to stop wearing dark sunglasses. The novelty has worn off, the effects does not induce fear and intimidation, just loads of sniggering and laughter.
When the first poker player came to the table and wore dark sunglasses it must have been electric at that game. Can you imagine the sight of watching a guy looking absurd winning hands. They say that when you sit down to a game and you cant see the fish then its you. So when some guy wearing dark glasses indoors starts to win and you lose then doubts might start to set in.
The first guy who wore dark glasses must have won because the look is so ridiculous that if he had of lost then it would never have been popular with poker players, especially beginners. I have read loads of reasons for wearing glasses from not giving your hands away to intimidation and making players play to your strength. But just like check/raise when you have the nuts in a multi-hand game, the cat is out of the bag and wearing dark glasses tells you more about the wearers ego than it tells you about their game.
Wearing dark glasses screams out div, wally, numbskull, poser, pratt and trust me it adds nothing to the poker players game. Its only there for effect and publicity especially on tv. So stop it now the fun has been had and attracting attention to yourself via your attire and not your genius at the table reveals everything about your intellect and insecurities.
