The death of Anne Williams mother of Kevin Williams after a short illness of cancer will bring to an end one of the most determined and heartbreaking campaign for justice.
Anne Williams exposed the reality of police cover up and the ruling establishment nasty campaign of character assassination and the demonisation of innocent people.
Anne Williams fought for justice after her 15 year old Kevin Williams was crushed to death at the Hillsborough disaster which killed 96 people. She rejected the coroners submission and set about tracking down witnesses and evidence which proved her son was alive long after the reported time of his death.
After years of setback she finally won last September when an independent panel agreed with her that her son was alive after 3:15pm and that evidence of this should have been heard in court thereby making it possible for all the evidence of the disaster to be revealed. In essence 58 of the people could have been saved if the police and emergency services acted properly, and, this 58 included her son.
The evidence that her son died in the arms of a special constable and a off duty constable at 4pm was changed by officers from West Midlands so as not to create problems for the police force which was on duty that day. This was a despicable thing to do and was supported by the press especially The Sun newspaper and the government of the day led by Mrs Thatcher.
Anne Williams died this week two days after the 24th year anniversary of the disaster. For more information about the Hillsborough disaster and the cover up please click on the image below.
In the week when one strong lady was given a state funeral (in all but name), it would be right and proper for Anne Williams be given a publicly funded funeral as a way of saying sorry to all those families and friends which had to endure years of vile hatred from the state.
