The poster boy for anti-online poker is unashamedly buying up the US Republican candidates to make sure that his casino business is not damaged by states voting to make online poker legal.
It is blatant and way over the top, however, the politicians who line up for the cash feel no shame about what they are paid to do and worst of all the voters do not seem to care.
When one person can strut around chucking money at so called leaders to make them do what he wants them to do is really scary. No doubt there will be those who defend Mr Adelson’s right to do what he wants. They see it as legitimate for one person to manipulate US law to his advantage.
But as Abe Lincoln once said, ”…You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time…” and he is right. But, Sheldon Adelson is going to give it a try.
