At one time it seemed so easy don’t drink until you’re finished, wait until the pubs closed and then go online and nick the money which all the drunks deposited after they came from the pubs.
Now with wall to wall poker on TV zillions of books and websites about playing classic poker strategy its is much more difficult to earn a crust online, well for me it is.
I suppose it had to come to an end because even the most numpty of player must have come across sensible plays and what to do in certain situations. That’s why I tend to play online tourneys because the first half hour is the best for loose play and you can build up quite a nice stack. After which it is then a grind.
The one thing I have started to do is to keep notes on players which I never did before – why because I was too lazy and online poker was too easy. But as things have moved on having online notes do sometimes help.
In one game I was in a player who liked to play more aggressive than me raised a hand in which I had top pair with a big kicker. His raised representing that either he had two pairs or was after the flush. Anyway I noticed that I made a note about him. Opened not and it said ‘Cheeky C*nt’, so I re-raised and he folded. Maybe I should have made notes on good online players sometime ago.
