‘Beware of what you wish for’ is a phrase that is both old and wise. I have not had a game of poker online or live since i decided to get involved in all sots of stuff. The thing about ‘stuff’ is that they have their own rules and procedures, which may or may not tie in with your own agenda.
‘Stuff’ not tying in with your ‘agenda’ does make life very difficult. At least with cards ‘stuff’ and ‘agenda’ is easily defined and easily incorporated. When you are dealing in different spheres sometimes the ‘stuff’ is not reasonable and the ‘agenda’ can be very wide in range.
It has not stop me from getting a bet in or two. With the growth in betting shops, due to the recession. It is easier to lose your money than usual. So dealing with people’s ‘stuff’ and ‘agenda’ in pubs, which tend to be next to bookies does not make for a happy mental attitude. Although I have had winners, they had the wrong stake, which as you can appreciate is not good.
Am i missing poker well I am not sure? After numerous bad beats and suck outs i did reach a stage when i dreaded being in a position where I was in the lead but had all my chips in and had to wait for the cards to do my judgement justice. Usually this is a good place to be, however, the poker gods have had other ideas, hence my choice to try other things to see what was around.
Will i come back to poker anytime soon? Absolutely! Will i be in a better frame of mind? No! Should i have taken time out? Yes!
